China Stevia Whole Plant Extract from Hunan Huacheng Biotech
Hunan Huacheng Biotech produces stevia whole plant extract at its Hunan facilities. The company operates its own leaf sourcing, extraction, and finishing lines, which keeps supply chain costs in check for buyers needing consistent, budget-aligned ingredient volumes. Manufacturing runs under GMP, HACCP, and BRC protocols, with in-house testing to verify glycoside profiles before release. Annual processing capacity across multiple extraction lines runs in the thousands of metric tons, making the site a viable source for North American and European formulators who switch from refined Reb A to whole-plant extracts for a broader sweetness profile.
Technical Detail
The whole plant extract retains a spectrum of steviol glycosides – not just rebaudioside A – which some food developers find closer to the taste of sugar when formulated into beverages or bars. Huacheng’s process starts with dried stevia leaves sourced through contracted farms in Hunan and surrounding provinces. The chain from field to finished extract is controlled through HPLC and gravimetric quality gates, with batch records traceable to growing regions. Moisture stays below 5% and particle size can be adjusted to 80 mesh or as requested. The extract is sold as a fine powder without carriers, suitable for blends requiring clean-label declaration. Certifications include FDA registration, BRC, HACCP, and GMP, and the site supports third-party lab verification for pesticide residues and heavy metals. For buyers evaluating total landed cost, Huacheng’s in-house extraction and large-batch drying capacity lower the price per kilo compared to toll-manufactured alternatives, which matters when whole plant extract competes against cheap artificial sweeteners in price-sensitive applications.

FAQ
The typical profile includes stevioside, rebaudioside A, rebaudioside C, and dulcoside A, with total glycosides falling between 80% and 95% depending on the grade you choose. Ratios vary by leaf origin and harvest season; we provide a batch-specific certificate of analysis.
We use a water-based extraction method followed by membrane filtration and spray drying. No organic solvents are involved in the extraction step, which keeps the process simple and avoids residual solvent concerns.
At this time, our standard whole plant extract is conventional. We do have organic leaf sources in validation, but commercial organic whole plant extract isn’t part of the current catalog. If you need organic, we can discuss a development timeline.
Each shipment comes with a certificate of analysis, MSDS, and statements covering GMO status, allergens, and irradiation. We can also fill out supplier questionnaires for FDA or EFSA submissions and arrange third-party testing upon request.
Once a purchase order is confirmed, production takes about 10 to 14 days, and ocean freight from Shanghai to the U.S. West Coast adds another 18–22 days. We hold small buffer stocks for repeat buyers, which can shorten that to immediate container releases for standard grades.
