Elderberry Extract Powder for Consistent Immune Formulations
Formulators shopping for elderberry extract powder usually run into two problems: inconsistent potency and raw material that clumps in the bag before the line even starts. Huacheng Biotech’s supply works around both. We don’t grow the berries, but we do control the downstream chain—extraction, spray drying, and quality checks under FDA-registered facilities—so you get a 5:1 extract with a polyphenol content that holds from batch to batch. At a price that doesn’t eat your COGS, it’s a practical choice for gummies, capsules, and instant drink mixes where color and solubility matter. Because we operate at the manufacturing end, not as a trader, lead times are tighter and MOQs more flexible. That matters when you’re testing a new SKU regionally or running trial batches. We stock 25 kg drums as standard, but can split into 1 kg samples for bench work. The powder remains free-flowing thanks to maltodextrin as a carrier, which also helps with dosing accuracy. Our technical team provides COAs that go beyond the basics—heavy metals, microbiologicals, and residual solvents—before any purchase order. If you’re reformulating an immune SKU or launching a seasonal line, the blend of anthocyanins and flavonoids here aligns with the label claims consumers are scanning for.
Technical Detail
Elderberry extract powder from Huacheng Biotech starts with dark purple Sambucus nigra berries sourced primarily from Eastern Europe, where the anthocyanin profile is seasonally reliable. After harvest, the berries are juiced and concentrated, then spray-dried onto a maltodextrin carrier. The result is a free-flowing powder that dissolves without specking—a practical concern if you’ve ever tried wet-blending a sticky botanical. The standard specification is a 5:1 extract ratio, meaning one kilo of powder represents the soluble solids of five kilos of fresh berries. Every batch is tested for total polyphenols (by Folin-Ciocalteu), anthocyanins (by pH-differential), moisture, and bulk density. What you won’t find on the COA is a certificate of authenticity that ignores pesticide residues; we include a multi-residue screen as default because many of our buyers use this powder in label-friendly products destined for retail shelves in the EU and North America. The supply chain advantage comes from owning the extraction line. Huacheng Biotech doesn’t broker bulk botanical powders; we mill, blend, and ship from our own facility. That vertical integration keeps the price per kilo in the budget-friendly range without cutting corners on testing. For brands that need to hit a specific anthocyanin claim on the Supplement Facts panel, we can propose a batch with a guaranteed minimum and adjust the filler ratio accordingly. Common uses span effervescent tablets, gummy premixes, and capsule blends—often alongside zinc and vitamin C. Because the powder is hygroscopic, we double-bag it in aluminum-laminated pouches inside the standard 25 kg fiber drum. Smaller trial quantities are available in 1 kg or 5 kg foil bags. If your R&D department wants to run stability at 40°C and 75% relative humidity, we can ship a sample from the same lot you’d scale with. Certifications including BRC, HACCP, FDA registration, and GMP compliance mean the facility auditing trail is already in place for most third-party schemes.

FAQ
Our standard batch usually assures not less than 1% anthocyanins (by pH-differential). We can also adjust the specification to a higher percentage or a custom range if your label claim demands it. The COA will always reflect the actual lot result.
It’s not specifically clarified for transparency, so you might get slight haze or sediment. For shelf-stable clear liquids, a liquid elderberry concentrate or a microfiltered version would work better, but for opaque shots or cloudier beverages, this powder dissolves fine.
We offer 1 kg samples for bench trials and 5 kg bags for pilot runs. Commercial orders typically start at 25 kg, which is one drum. We don’t push huge MOQs because we understand that product development needs small batches first.
We use maltodextrin as a drying carrier and package the powder in double-layer aluminum-laminated bags inside a sealed fiber drum. Proper storage in a cool, dry place keeps it free-flowing for at least 12 months under recommended conditions.
Currently, the standard material is conventional. If you need certified organic, we can source it through our procurement network, but that would be a separate project with longer lead time and different pricing.
